What is with this iPod?!?

I don't know what this thing's problem is. It keeps freezing; the controls simply will not respond. And every time this happens, there's nothing you can do but wait for the battery to die, then recharge it, and then it works fine. The first couple times this has happened, I was trying to skip forwards or backwards to another song when it decided to freeze. Tonight, it decided to freeze while I was listening to a song. I couldn't skip forward, pause it or nothing. I tried re-syncing it to see what that would do and now it's simply frozen on the menu screen. Is there an iPod repair shop I can take this stupid thing to? What's going on?
