Dick Cheney's Haliburton and Iraq. How rich will they get from it?

So i think he brainwashed a nation into sending an army to war in foreign lands so his company and others (weapons, oil companies) will get great big fat contracts and make billions (oil reserves in Iraq, pipelines in Afghanistan). All at the cost of 5000 + young American lives, maybe 1 000 000 Iraqi lives. How did this happen?
