How do you fix a jailbroken ipod?

My brother gave me his old ipod touch that was jailbroken, I didn't like all the stuff he had on it so I went under settings the other day and clicked reset ipod content or something that told me it was going to erase everything on the ipod and it could take up to an hour. The damn ipod took about 4 hours before it was done. Now when i click to turn it on I get the apple symbol for 2 mins then it turns into a face of a skull or something and it wont turn on. I have tried to recharge it and i have plugged it into itunes, but my computer doesnt even pop up with the picture saying your ipod touch is plugged in or anything. Can someone please help?
