How do I recharge a car air conditioner?

I just purchased a used 2000 Pontian Grand Prix GT. The climate control system is functioning. Well, I should say the blower works. I just need to get it charged with freon. Evereywhere I call around me wants $120-$175. Is there a way I can possibly do it myself? If you can give me any instructions would be GREATLY appreciated!
