Gas Prices help please...?

You know I can't stand it!!! I went to the gas station the other day and gas WAS 4.36 A GALLON!!! The thing is I live in Alaska and I don't understand WHY gas is this high. Alaska is known to have a lot of oil and i don't know why the f*** gas is so high when I live next to one of the biggest pipelines in the world! Could SOMEBODY please explain this to me? It doesn't make any sense to me.
