Conspiracy Theories: High Fuel prices vs.Jobs?
Is this possible? The high fuel prices will create jobs building new "high mileage" cars. Is our lovely government letting these ridiculously high fuel prices continue so that we start to buy new "high mileage" autos and then the auto makers will have a reason to rehire all the laid off workers? What's up with that? Is it possible? After all, this "crisis" in Libya was the original excuse for the recent rise in fuel prices. What does Libya have to do with the Canadian oil coming through the pipelines here in Wisconsin? World wide economy? Crap on that. And these so called "high mileage" cars. What junk. For one thing, we have used the gasoline compression engine for over 100 years now. Is this country so stupid that we are stuck using technology from a century ago? One other side note. I used to own a 1983 Plymouth Horizon that I could always depend on getting 40-42 MPG. My 09 Toyota Corolla only gets 32-34 on average. I presently own a 1989 Chevy pick up that always gets 18-20 a gallon (with a 5.7 L). My brother has a 06 Ford F150 with a V6 that is lucky to break 14 with the wind at its tail. Why don't any of the new vehicles get as good of mileage? Think about it people. Who really controls this country?
